**Exciting opportunity at our head office — we’re hiring a Financial Accountant!**
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Financial Controller the Financial Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Accounting Function in Head Office
THE JOB:
- Responsible for year – end accounts and assist with the preparation of business / financial plans as required.
- Review of all procedures and controls regularly and work closely with the finance team to update where necessary
- Implementing and maintaining systems to support effective financial management including budgetary control
- Ensuring that the financial reports produced for the weekly & monthly management meetings are correct
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of work carried out by the team meets/exceeds expected standards
- Responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable systems and overseeing the preparation of control accounts for debtors, bank and creditors.
- Ensuring that there are proper controls in place to ensure that invoices are not double paid and that each member in the team is sufficiently trained to cope with any given task on a daily basis
- Establishing financial procedures & consistent management reporting
- Overseeing the submission of monthly, quarterly and annual statutory returns
- Working closely with restaurants and the shops providing analysis and assistance where necessary
- Responsible for ensuring that all Bank accounts are properly reconciled and making sure that we have systems in place for ensuring all Balance Sheet accounts are properly reconciled
- The Key point of contact for the Auditors and preparation of all audit files.
- Responsible for the training and Development for members in her team
- Having procedures in place to ensure that lodgments and credit card receipts are checked when they appear on the bank statement and that there is a procedure in place to investigate any discrepancies.
- Dealing with queries at the request of other people in the Finance Team
- Flexible in the use of other accounting systems and providing assistance to other areas of the business
- To monitor the performance of the team and to motivate them to ensure they are properly focused to carry out the tasks needed of them on a weekly basis
- Other Ad Hoc Duties and projects which are for the benefit of the business
THE PERSON:
- Needs to have good communications and organizational skills
- Needs to have a good understanding of different accounting packages
- Highly motivated with the ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines
- Effective multi-tasker with the ability to focus on key priorities
- Attention to detail and sees tasks through to completion
- Self-assured with ability to create positive working relationships
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements of the role.
- Responsible for managing a team of 7 people.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role required.
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
