Supermac's HQ have an exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Auditor to join the Food Safety Department.  This is a field based role, therefore the candidate can be based anywhere nationwide (within a commutable distance from a number of our outlets).

Reporting to the Food Safety Manager, this role will involve the carrying out of unannounced food safety and hygiene audits on the Supermac’s outlets.  While this is a full-time position, part-time applicants will also be considered where suitable.  The role is very flexible in that store audits can be carried out on weekdays, weekends or evenings.  Previous auditing experience is an advantage but not essential, a background in the food industry is preferred.  Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct unannounced QSC Food Safety & Hygiene Audits on the outlets.
  • The use of an online App to carry out and score the audits.
  • Compile reports based on QSCs and give feedback to Shop Managers and Franchisees.
  • Ensure corrective actions are put in place and issues are followed up on and closed off.
  • Meet Managers and Management Teams in relation to issues raised in QSCs.
  • Provide support, advice, training & assistance to shop Management Teams where required.
  • Communicate findings and progress with the Food Safety Manager on a continuous basis.
  • Work off your own initiative based on a quarterly work schedule.
  • Carry out Basic Food Safety and Hygiene Training as required at shop level with Managers and Staff.
  • Ensure training records are maintained.

The ideal Candidate will have or demonstrate:

  • A degree in Food Safety or related discipline (Food Technology, Nutrition, Science)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, i.e. capable of managing relationships across different departments and different stores
  • Full Driver's Licence
  • HACCP trained is an advantage
  • Be self-motivated, and have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft word/excel/outlook
