Description
The Kinnegad Plaza is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our team and become an integral part of our workforce.
Full-time from Monday to Friday with some weekend availability.
JOB PURPOSE:
- The Maintenance person will undertake maintenance tasks as required by the Store Manager.
- They will be responsible for various interior and exterior maintenance duties within the restaurant.
- They will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance, Grounds keeping such as power washing, goods inwards, painting, a bit of DIY, etc. with minimum upset at the restaurant level.
- The maintenance person will report to the Store manager on-site, performing several proactive and reactive maintenance tasks daily.
THE CANDIDATE:
- The ideal candidate will have a track record in the field of maintenance, and will most probably have a qualification in a craft discipline, i.e. plumbing, carpentry, etc.
- In addition, a minimum of 1.5 years of experience and a good working knowledge of general maintenance are essential.
- The successful candidate for this position must be enthusiastic, hardworking, and willing to learn new skills in a fast-changing environment.
- Candidates should have the ability to work both alone and as part of a team that consistently produces high-quality finishes.
THE JOB:
1. Responds to requests from the Store Manager or another relevant Manager such as the Operations Manager.
2. Carries out all duties as directed willingly and efficiently, and takes the initiative to take on additional duties where the same becomes obvious when on-site, thus reducing the need for a return visit.
3. Must be flexible, and able to work in all areas, i.e. painting, repairing seating, replacing ceiling tiles, lights, etc., and at short notice.
4. Must carry out work effectively, efficiently, and with minimum disruption to customers and at the restaurant level.
5. Must abide by all safety standards and procedures and ensure others do likewise
6. Responsible for ordering and costing relevant supplies to enable work to be carried out in some instances.
7. Working through maintenance work, both preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance, to ensure maximum service is given to restaurants to ensure consistency to our customers.
8. To plan and schedule maintenance work when going on-site to ensure maximum output.
9. Conscious of the safety of self, other colleagues, and customers.
10. Take ownership of work, pride in workmanship, and accountability for finished standards.
