Séan O’Brien ‘Fuels his Tank’

Irish International and Leinster Rugby Star Séan O’Brien is encouraging Rugby Fans to ‘Fuel their Tanks’ with the Supermac’s fresh 5oz 100% Irish Beef Burger.  The Supermac’s fresh 5oz Irish Beef Burger is the first fresh meat burger available in a quick service food chain in Ireland.  As an Irish Beef Farmer himself, Séan firmly believes in Irish companies supporting Irish Famers.  The Supermac’s fresh 5oz Irish Beef Burger brings Supermac’s commitment to Irish Farmers to an excess of €20 million per annum, increased in part due to the creation of the fresh 5oz burger itself.

Speaking at the launch O’Brien says As a professional rugby player, a healthy and balanced diet is a crucial part of my preparations.  As part of that diet, protein is key. I am delighted to see that Supermac’s are using the best quality Irish beef in the Supermac’s fresh 5oz 100% Irish Beef Burger, which is home grown and rich in high quality protein.”

“Supermac’s continuous support of Irish Farmers is most important to me” continues O’Brien.  “It’s companies such as Supermac’s that keep the farming industry in Ireland going and standards high when the quality Supermac’s look for and serve is a priority.”

Managing Director of Supermac’s Pat McDonagh says “we are delighted to help a player of Séan O’Brien’s calibre to ‘Fuel his Tank!”.  He demonstrates his strength and fitness on the field during each and every game he plays.  As an Irish Beef Farmer Séan has an in depth knowledge of what it takes to produce excellent meat.  Engaging Séan as Supermac’s Ambassador was a natural choice.”

“We are most excited by the introduction of the Supermac’s fresh 5oz 100% Irish Beef Burger.  We are using fresh premium cuts of Irish Beef, which are never frozen, and the burger is cooked to order every time” continues Mr. McDonagh.  “We are committed to continuing our ongoing support of Irish Farmers which goes back to when we opened the doors of our first Supermac’s restaurant in Ballinasloe in 1978.  This is something that has remained a constant in Supermac’s over the years.  We have some of the best quality grass fed beef on this island and I’m extremely proud to serve it in each of our restaurants.  The quality of the produce we carefully prepare for the thousands of customers who walk through the doors of Supermac’s restaurants every week is imperative to us.”

Supermac’s spend with Irish Farmers’ spans across a wide range of producers including beef, chicken, dairy and vegetables.  The company is a member of both the IFA and the Irish Grassland Association and regularly features at key agricultural shows including the National Ploughing Championships, The Tullamore Show and Teagasc Open Days.

As part of Supermac’s 2015 plans for growth the group will open a new Family Restaurant on Andersonstown Road, Belfast over the coming weeks which will join this year’s new Supermac’s restaurant opening in Clonshaugh, Ballacolla, Tipperary Town, Drogheda and Connolly Station, Dublin.  Junction 16 Kiltullagh Plaza is due to open early next year on the M6 while plans have been submitted for a key motorway service development on the M18. The business is involved in over 400 community initiatives and sponsorships around Ireland.
