The Barack Obama Plaza is looking for a Goods Inwards Person to join our team.

Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Goods Inwards Person role is to undertake warehouse tasks as required by the Site Manager. As a Goods Inwards Person, you will be responsible for various aspects of warehouse operations, including layout, cleanliness, stock management, goods inwards and outwards, transfers, docket system, and all associated practices related to a warehouse role.

Job Description:

• To check and record the quality and quantity of goods inwards as per purchasing requirements and according to the goods receiving procedure.
• To keep the back stores area secure by controlling the movement of suppliers in the goods receiving area.
• To maintain and merchandise the stock room in an orderly fashion and in compliance with food safety regulations.
• To submit all invoice/delivery documentation to the office on a daily basis.
• Responsible for the management of goods inwards, stocks, and stock management, including weekly stocktakes.
• Responsible for paperwork and administration while ensuring hygiene and cleaning standards are kept to the highest level, in line with QSC requirements and HACCP.
• To ensure the correct storage and documentation of returns are maintained.
• To ensure all company rules, policies, and procedures are adhered to.
• Assist in training staff when required.
• To ensure all transactions with customers and suppliers are dealt with professionally.
• To ensure the lines of communication are kept open at all times with site management.
• Assist with waste disposal and ensure the implementation of a reduce, reuse, and recycle principle across the site. Manage waste externally and internally behind counters and in kitchens.
• To be familiar with all Health & Safety Regulations about your department and to report any breaches to store management.
• To follow company security procedures in terms of storage areas/back gate access and report any breaches to management.
• Additional duties may be added or those listed above modified as required by the business.

The Job:

• Reports and responds to requests from the Goods Inwards Supervisor and carries out several proactive and reactive warehouse tasks daily.
• Employees must abide by company standards in all aspects of employment.
• Carries out all duties diligently and has a positive impact on quality and cleanliness in the warehouse/store.
• Must be flexible and able to work in all areas as needed and at short notice.
• Must abide by all standards and procedures and ensure others do likewise.
• Additional duties may be added or those listed above modified.
• Conscious of safety for self, other colleagues, and customers.

Work Environment:
Fast-paced, “non-stop” environment. Physically demanding at times due to the level of business, quality of staff, quantity of staff, and preparedness for business demands. Certain business volumes necessitate prolonged periods without sitting down.
