Supporting UNICEF’s emergency work for children and families affected by the Gaza crisis
Supermac’s has confirmed that its Annual Charity Fundraiser, held on November 15th at the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa, raised €40,000 for the UNICEF emergency appeal for Gaza.
The annual event is a long-standing fixture in the Supermac’s calendar, having previously supported charities including Trócaire, the Simon Community, and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
More than €32,000 of the total was raised by Supermac’s suppliers, with the remaining balance donated by Pat and Una McDonagh on behalf of Supermac’s.
Supermac’s Managing Director Pat McDonagh said the fundraiser once again highlighted the generosity of the wider Supermac’s community and the importance of supporting humanitarian efforts, particularly for children and families affected by the crisis in Gaza.
UNICEF Ireland was represented on the night by Peter Power, Executive Director of UNICEF Ireland. UNICEF also has a strong Galway connection through its Ambassador, Joe Canning, the Galway hurling star.
The charity fundraiser brought together Supermac’s suppliers, business partners, and community representatives for an evening of fundraising in support of UNICEF’s emergency work in Gaza.
