**Exciting opportunity at our head office — we’re hiring a Financial Accountant!**

The role is based in the office, five days per week.

 JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of an Accounting team in the Head Office.

 THE JOB:                                                                                                              

  1. Responsible for year – end accounts and assisting with the preparation of business / financial plans as required.
  2. Review all procedures and controls regularly and work closely with the finance team to update where necessary.
  3. Ensuring that the financial reports produced for the weekly & monthly management meetings are correct.
  4. Responsible for ensuring the quality of work carried out by the team meets/exceeds expected standards.
  5. Responsible for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable systems and overseeing the preparation of control accounts for debtors, bank and creditors.
  6. Ensuring that there are proper controls in place to ensure that invoices are not double-paid and that each member in the team is sufficiently trained to cope with any given task daily.
  7. Establishing financial procedures & consistent management reporting.
  8. Overseeing the submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns.
  9. Working closely with restaurants and the shops, providing analysis and assistance where necessary.
  10. Responsible for ensuring that all Bank accounts are properly reconciled and making sure that we have systems in place to ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are properly reconciled.
  11. The Key point of contact for the Auditors.
  12. Responsible for the training and development of members in the team.
  13. Dealing with queries at the request of other people in the Finance Team.
  14. Flexible in the use of other accounting systems and providing assistance and financial information to other areas of the business.
  15. To monitor the performance of the team and to motivate them to ensure they are properly focused to carry out the tasks needed of them every week
  16. Other Ad Hoc Duties and projects which are for the benefit of the business

THE PERSON:

  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role required, ideally a fully qualified accountant, but not essential.
  2. Must be part-qualified (at Final stages) and have experience in preparing management accounts and managing a small team of people.
  3. Needs to have good communication and organizational skills
  4. Needs to have a good understanding of different accounting packages
  5. Highly motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
  6. Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and work to tight deadlines.
  7. Effective multitasker with the ability to focus on key priorities.
  8. Attention to detail and sees tasks through to completion.
  9. Self-assured with the ability to create positive working relationships.
  10. Flexibility to adapt to the changing requirements of the role.
  11. Responsible for managing a team of people.
